Your personal data is important to us. We will not rent, sell, or otherwise share any potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone.
If you visit this website, files called “cookies” may be saved to your computer. A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns.
There are two types of cookies used on this site.
The first are strictly functional cookies necessary to allow registered users to sign in and edit this website. Most regular visitors are not affected; at most, our CMS sets a cookie that tells the website that users that are not logged in should be treated as “guests” in the sense that they are only allowed to view pages instead of edit them. These cookies do not contain any personal data.
The second type are cookies that we use to track visitors using Piwik Analytics (now: Matomo). We run our own installation of this analytics software. Since it is self-hosted (unlike Google Analytics), we don’t share any data with third parties. The information obtained via these tracking cookies allows us to determine approximately how many visitors we get and to better understand how these visitors use the website. The software registers your IP address, but this information is anonymized: two bytes are obscured at the moment of collection, which means that an IP address reads e.g. 192.186.xxx.xxx instead of all numbers.
Cookies from third parties are limited to YouTube (in our videos section). However, these cookies are set only if you elect to click play. This is a feature of YouTube (Google) that we have enabled to ensure the privacy of our visitors. Please be aware that if you play such videos, Google/YouTube will set a cookie and may track you across the website.
