Tilman Moritz studied History and Archaeology at the Goethe University Frankfurt. He achieved a PhD (2015) on autobiographical accounts by German knights of the sixteenth century. Currently he is research assistant in Ecclesiastical History, but he has also worked as freelance lecturer, author, translator, and editor. His academic focus is on cultural history, and in particular on premodern elites and modes of historiography.
