2014 saw the release of no less than three (!) movies about the mythological hero Hercules (Heracles). A good reason to devote a number of articles to reviewing these new releases as well as some older movies about this particular Graeco-Roman hero.
Disney does Hercules, resulting in an entertaining movie that’s fun for all the family – although purists may scoff at the liberties taken with the source material.
Some of the best so-called Peplum movies are two Italian-produced films about Hercules starring Steve Reeves.
Based on the comic book by Steve Moore, this energetic Hercules movie also borrows from classic Peplum films.
Just when you thought movies about Heracles couldn’t get much worse than The Legend of Hercules, along comes Hercules Reborn.
A joyless, soulless exercise in tedium with mediocre performances by way of an added “bonus”. Avoid at all costs.
